lumpers

or

splitters

WHEN IT COMES TO putting information into categories, people tend to be either a "lumper" who combines many things under a few headings, or a "splitter" who creates numerous descriptive categories.

What we've done is to try to come up with the smallest number of categories that multimedia might be pigeon-holed into. But because our system is searchable, we have been able to embed each entry so that it may be listed under multiple categories.

This page is meant to describe each category we chose and what you might find within it.
