[5.1] What's the most recent version, and where can I find updates?

As of this writing, the most recent version is 5.0.1, an incremental update to 5.0, the most recent commercial release. Updaters for both Mac and Windows version, and separate updaters for Director's help system, are available for free download from sharedcast in the directory:

You should easily be able to find them from Macromedia:
