[9.6] Can I paste styled text from a word processor?
Text on the Mac is stored separately from style information. There is a standard
Mac format for styled text, and this can be pasted into Director from the
clipboard, but many word processing applications use their own proprietary
formats and do not support copying of styled text. Text copied from such
applications will lose its formatting.
The most notable application to support copying of styled text is Apple's
SimpleText. ResEdit's styl/TEXT resource editor also supports copy and paste of
styled text. (**** any other examples? ****)
[I don't presently have the info to provide a Windows answer for this...]
[ed note: Director 5 supports the importing of Rich Text Format (RTF), which most word processors can export files as.]
