Program Purpose

The purpose of sponsored programs is to enhance professionalism, encourage excellence in the District faculty and to provide the supervision of an incentive program for faculty, while using the utmost care of public money. This program is designed to recognize and reward in a substantial way the efforts of faculty members as they engage in professional growth activities related to their service to the District.

Program Objective

The Maricopa Community Colleges Governing Board established the District Faculty Professional Growth Committee to supervise the following programs which are reviewed by two sub-committees:

• Salary Advancement and Sabbaticals Reviews Committee
1. Advancement horizontally on the salary schedule
   (Academic and Non-Academic Advancement programs)
   
   
2. Sabbatical leaves/Professional leaves
   (Sabbatical program)
   
   
• Registration Fees and Summer Projects Reviews Commiteee
1. Funding of Summer projects and activities
   (Summer Projects program)
   
   
2. Registration fees for conferences/workshops, clinics etc.
