Religion and Contemporary Bioethical Issues

• Activity One:

  Choose three of the recent legal cases that are concerned with biomedical ethics. What is the role of religious beliefs in terms of how one might view these recent decisions? Would the perspectives be different for believers of different world religions?

• Activity Two:

  Evaluate the cross-cultural issues concerning patient directives. In what ways might differing religious beliefs result in different views of patient directives?

• Activity Three

  What should be done when bioethics and religion clash?
